We NEVER saw this one coming... when
Asylum Wrestling brought in 3rd Generation Star Mike Dibiase into our realm, we
didn't really consider the past connections with the legendary names Williams &
Dibiase... Looking back after the fact has taught us valuable history lessons
dating back nearly twenty years, and the rest of our history lessons have now
been told my Mike Dibiase himself...
Starting off the night Dibiase made easy work of young upstart Josh FX Evans, he
won over the crowd and began his tenure in ACW on a note we could all respect
and be excited about... But after running off te attempts of Kenneth Campbell &
Brother Luc to injure Dr. Death Steve Williams, the note fell off key, and a
sour mood settles over The Phil Long Expo Center...
DOC went in to hug the man he has known since he was a small child, thanking him
for his efforts in clearing the ring of Campbell & Luc... But his hug was shoved
away... Bring in the somberness... Dibiase went on to tell a story about his
youth.. A story that took place from the stands at the old UWF television
tapings venue... DOC & Mike's father "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase were
tag champions and ruled the UWF in that division... Mike would watch his father
save Dr. Death from various opponents, but never saw much in return from Dr.
Death... Mike, calling DOC, "Uncle DOC" explained that he would cry his eyes out
in the stands, waiting for "Uncle DOC" to save his father, and nothing... Mike
said he's waited a long time for this opportunity to speak his mind, ten slapped
the face of Dr. Death Steve Williams... Dibiase explained that their legacy will
continue, and it's time for Dr. Death to pay for what he didn't do all those
years ago...
We could only imagine the bitterness that has built up inside of Mike Dibiase over the past 20 years, but even we know that Dr. Death Steve Williams isn't the same man he was back them... But none the less, a part of DOC'S past in coming back to haunt him right here in ACW, and that haunting will continue into Saturday August 16th as the two legendary names in our business clash under an entirely new light, in an entirely new generation... Worth the price of admission alone... AW has had it's share of emotional moments, but this might just eclipse them all... Get your seat reserved right now at www.ticketswest.com
