Greatest Tag Champions in ACW
History? Let's Find out...

Lonnie Valdez & Epic have already stated that they are the greatest Tag Team Champions in ACW History.. Due to their reunion in June, the ACW Title History books have eliminated their June 2007 Split completely, giving them the new record as the longest reigning tag champions in ACW, but are they the best? Some other tag teams from ACW'S past might disagree..
TOP FIVE ACW AG TEAM CHAMPIONS OTHER
THAN LONNIE & EPIC...
(No Particular Order)
1. Dr.John Zorthos & The Attorney Julian
Wolfenbarger...

ACW's first ever Tag Team Champions... Asylum wrestling was no where near what it is today, but dominance in a division was never displayed like it was by Dr. John & Julian... They reigned twice as Tag Team Champions, and also ruled ACW in the CEO GROUP along side then Champion Ty Magnus & Owner Brandon Bishop... Having Bishop & Magnus on their team made them a very powerful duo, and with those assets might very well be too much for current Tag Champs Lonnie & Epic... As far as pure wrestling ability though, Zorthos & Wolfenbarger would have to have their very best day on this planet to even come close to our Tag Champs in 2008...
2. Magnificent Ty Magnus & Lil Joe
With the Charisma dripping from the pores of Ty Magnus, and the power he delivered, coupled with the amazing athletic skills of Lil Joe, Lonnie Valdez & Epic might have found the perfect opponents in Ty & Joe... This team was just reaching their potential as a tag team when Ty Magnus was sent to Korea with the US Army back in 2004... Lil Joe to this day could very well be the most rounded pure athlete in ACW history, only rivaled by the talents of Current Tag Champion Lonnie Valdez... Epic's strength and pure striker style could match up very well with former ACW Champion, Hardcore Champion & three time tag Champion Ty Magnus... As a fan this would have been a dream match, but the mental skills possessed by current Tag Champions Lonnie & Epic, would have been the difference maker.. while Joe was almost impossible to hurt, he was easy to outsmart, and not even Ty Magnus' smile could make up for that factor...
3. Brandon Bishop & John Zorthos
The best of friends, the worst of enemies... Bishop a three time tag champion (2x with Zorthos, once with Angel Williams), Zorthos a 4x Tag Champion (2x With Bishop, 2x with Julian Wolfenbarger)... Say what you want about their in ring skills back then, they were simply the two most powerful entities in the Texas & Oklahoma regional Indy wrestling circuit... With power comes results, and after holding the tag titles for nearly a year, they always got the job done by hook or crook... Lonnie & Epic might have been smarter than Joe & Ty, but that role is reversed against a team like Bishop & Zorthos who have used brains over brawn for many years... As far as move for move, the victory would clearly go to Lonnie & Epic, but any & every small window left open by the current champs, would have been exploited by Bishop/Zorthos... It would be interesting to see the results of a series of matches between these teams.. No two matches would have ended the same, and I doubt a clear victor could possibly be made...
4. Big John O'Malley & All American
Aaron Neil
Though they had a short reign as Tag Champions in 2003, and long before either held the ACW title, or donned the Irish Phenom, or Real F.N Deal gimmicks, O'Malley & Aaron could have easily become the most dominant tag team in our history... Their mere size would have overwhelmed the current tag champions in 2008, as neither Lonnie Valdez or Epic have a lot of experience against the big men in wrestling.. O'Malley & Aaron tip the scales combines at almost 600lbs back in those days... And not only were they huge men, they could move quickly... also both were sounded mat technicians that have faced & learned from some of the very best in this business... I could only wonder what strategy Lonnie & Epic would have to employ in order to retain the tag title against O'Malley & Aaron... I could only imagine that there would be several kicks to the sides of the legs of the big men, in hopes to chop them down... This match doesn't seem all that likely these days, but anything could happen... Don't count on seeing it, but it very well could happen someday... Awesome match up...
5. TEAM SHENANIGANS (Tyler Bateman &
Kenny Campbell)
Dream Match... Simply put... Long before
"Pastor Kenneth Campbell" found the man upstairs and annoyed fans in Colorado,
he was one half of the most innovative and dominant team in ACW history along
side Tyler Bateman, Team Shenanigans... This team was entertaining in and out of
the ring, producing some of ACW's most entertaining & even controversial
moments... The Styles of Team Shenanigans & the current tag champs Lonnie Valdez
& epic mesh in a very interesting manner, all parties taking influences from
Japanese icons... asylumwrestling.com refuses to choose a winner in this
potential dream match, but will say that we would ALL like to see it happen..
Hopefully someday Tyler Bateman will show up and remind Kenneth of how cool he
used to be...
